care-guide
With a little regular care, your bamboo blinds will stay beautiful and functional for many years — even in Sri Lanka's challenging climate.
Weekly / Monthly Dust with a soft brush or microfibre cloth. Work from top to bottom. For light marks, a slightly damp cloth (not wet) is usually enough. Never use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
Dealing with humidity & mould If you notice surface mildew (common near the coast or during long rainy periods): Gently wipe with a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water. Rinse lightly with a clean damp cloth. Dry thoroughly by tilting the slats fully open and letting air circulate for a few hours.
Monsoon season tips During heavy rains, raise the blinds fully when windows are open. If they do get soaked, lower them completely and let them air-dry in a shaded, breezy spot before rolling them up again.
Long-term storage If you take blinds down for painting or long trips, roll them loosely (fabric side out if applicable), wrap in breathable cotton or paper, and store flat in a dry cupboard. Avoid plastic wrapping for long periods.
