EST. 2002 • HANDCRAFTED IN SRI LANKA

A Family Legacy of Light, Shade & Craft.

For over two decades, Bata Palali Sri Lanka has been shaping bamboo into beautiful, durable window coverings that bring comfort and character to homes and hospitality spaces across the island.

It began with a single workshop in the south.

Jagath Perera grew up watching his father weave cane and bamboo for local homes. In 2002, he founded Bata Palali with a simple belief: that thoughtfully made blinds could transform how Sri Lankans experience light, privacy, and the outdoors.

What started as a small operation with two weavers has grown into a trusted name for architects, hoteliers, and families who value quality and authenticity. Every blind still carries the mark of human hands — from the careful selection of mature bamboo to the final finishing coat.

What makes us different

  • Island-sourced materials — We work with responsibly harvested bamboo and cane from across Sri Lanka.
  • Custom-first — Every order is made to the exact measurements and finish you choose.
  • Climate-smart design — Our coatings and constructions are built for humidity, monsoon rains, and strong sun.
  • End-to-end care — From measurement guidance to installation support and aftercare, we stay with you.

Today Jagath's children are part of the business, learning the same patience and pride that went into the very first pieces. The workshop has grown, but the values remain the same: respect for the material, care for the customer, and the quiet satisfaction of a job done beautifully.
